Another cool vibe in St. Petersburg. Excellent food and ambiance. Everyone loved what they ordered and we had a great variety of food. I was not a fan of the cheese covered brussel sprouts- but would have liked them without the cheese and bacon. Great assortment of draft beers and a great cocktail list. So overall a good bar structure. Love the interior/exterior layout. You walk up and can smell the meat cooking. If you come on a weekend I would imagine it is a thriving scene of activity. It is to be noted that the bathrooms are outside on the side of the building because the larger 'restaurant' is outdoors. Service was great and all recommendations were honest!!
I have to apologize... I took no photos. My Bad! The Rack of Ribs were outrageously delicious. OMG...melt in your mouth (with Spicy, Tangy or Sweet BBQ to accompany). The Brisket Plate was to die for! The brisket was on point and possibly the best I have had in a very long time. Best was taking it home for leftovers! Potato Salad is AWESOME...the Collard Greens were THE BEST! JoJo was an amazing server. On point, right there always and has a wonderful personality. She controlled the whole restaurant Inside and Out. You order inside and your food is delivered to you. Sorry Minnesota Ben, you can make it up to my sister and I next time we come in. Everything at the Urban Brew & BBQ is HOMEMADE BY SCRATCH. There is nothing sold that is not prepared daily at the restaurant. THANK YOU FOR THE BEST BBQ! Wait....did I tell you about their HOMEMADE Desserts OMG. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and Key Lime Pie are AWESOME! If your full, take the dessert for later. You will NOT be disappointed. Did I tell you that everything is HOMEMADE!
Came to Urban Brew abd BBQ with a group of friends during the evening. Got a few beers and ciders, the food was really good, and the staff friendly and helpful. They also have shuffle board, and other games like jenga and board games. Great spot for a chill evening with friends and family.
Stopped in for a quick bite before an event at a place nearby. Walking up, the venue is in what looks like an old gas station. It's got a vintage look and a bunch of shuffleboard lanes with an outdoor patio with picnic style seating. The evening was cool so this would be a perfect spot to have some drinks and eat and just hang out with friends or family. The menu is southern BBQ with pork and chicken and craft beers. I ended up with the bungalow pie, which is mashed pipotatoes with bbq chicken, cheese, and scallions. It was very flavorful and the potatoes were like homemade with some lumps in it. Service was quick and everyone was extremely nice. Definicely a place I'd come back to to try out some other dishes. The area has cleaned up a lot and there are a lot of other shops in the area Definitely worth a visit and this place will definitely fill you up if you're hungry!
Owning my own spice company and participating in BBQ competitions I am almost never happy with BBQ restaurants. Well this is the rare occasion where I was pleasantly surprised. The service was exactly what you want from a place like this, they run lean and mean. You place your order at the bar and they will deliver your food when it's ready to serve. Let's hop right in to the main course "The Thing". This is a cornbread sandwich with pulled pork, bacon, fried egg, and topped with their homemade Gouda cheese sauce. There were so many ways you could screw this dish up and they missed them all. The cornbread was sweet and moist. The pulled pork and bacon were seasoned perfectly. The egg was runny and the cheese never was an unpleasant consistency. If I wasn't in public I would have licked my tray clean.
Service is fast and food is absolutely delicious My rave is for the brisket (fatty, not dry) sandwich I get this every time I come to St. Pete and obsessed The bun is toasted perfectly for that crispness with each bite, and the flavor of the brisket and the sauce is just mouthwateringly delicious The Cole slaw is great and so is the Mac and cheese with the top crisped to perfection!!
Urban brew is a very trendy and easy going restaurant. Be prepared to wait for your food, but it's worth it. We got nachos, 1/4 pulled pork combo and brussel sprouts well done. The brussel sprouts were by far my favorite part of the meal. The pulled pork was good, but not very warm. The fries were yummy but also not very warm. I'm sure they would've cooked them longer if I had asked. Overall, had a good experience.
